Talent Show

Each year students have the opportunity to present their God-given talents before the school community and a panel of judges. They may enter as individuals or groups with a wide array of unique and creative acts. There is also a visual art showcase and competition for those whose talent is not performance-based.

Stewardship

Parable of the talents

Based on the Parable of the Talents Jesus taught in Matthew 25, this annual fundraiser benefits our tuition assistance fund. Each family is given $10 per child as a symbol of the "talent" described in the parable, with the goal to multiply that $10 into any amount more. We hope to encourage creative thinking and allow parents to use this endeavor as an opportunity to work with their child(ren) to teach them about service, creativity, entrepreneurship, trust in God, and the reality that they can make a real contribution, no matter how large or small.

Community

Fall Festival

In October, the entire Providence community comes together for an evening of food, fellowship, and activities at our Fall Festival. This event is an intentional time for students, parents, and staff to fellowship with one another in a casual environment. There are contests and activities to engage everyone from our youngest students and our most senior parents and staff.

Grandparents Day

At Providence, we greatly value and wish to honor our elders. As such, each year we invite our students' grandparents onto campus so that they may gain insight into their grandchild(ren)'s education at Providence and spend some quality time with them.

Field Day

Our students end standardized testing week at the end of the year with a school-wide day of outdoor fun! At the grammar level, classes travel together around a circuit of stations and at the Logic and Rhetoric levels, Houses compete against one another for points in the House Cup competition. Families are encouraged to attend together and to enjoy lunch together between the lower and upper school parts of the day!

Chess Club

Students gather weekly in the winter to learn the fundamentals of chess and to test their skills against one another. This club is enjoyed by students of all ages and skill levels from our youngest Grammar students to our oldest Rhetoric students.

Athletics

Cross Country

PPA has both a cross country team for the students in the upper school and a running club for grammar level students. Our runners have the opportunity to compete in meets throughout the season both regionally and beyond.

Archery

The archery team is open to both upper and lower school students. PPA has a practice shooting range on campus where students hone their skills before putting them to the test at competitions.
